WIMC Awarded NCQA Recognitions

Wake Internal Medicine Consultants, Inc. (WIMC) is committed to delivering consistent, high-quality medical care and exceptional customer service to our patients. As a result, the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has announced that Wake Internal Medicine has received recognition as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Specialty Practice, as well as exceeding the standards for NCQA’s Diabetes Recognition Program and Heart/Stroke Recognition Program. We have also renewed our recognition for being a Patient-Centered Medical Home.

NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations. It also recognizes clinicians and practices in key areas of performance. You may find the list of recognized clinicians and practices at https://recognition.ncqa.org.

WIMC’s participation in a NCQA Recognition Program demonstrates that we value quality health care and the latest clinical protocols to ensure that our patients receive the best care. We give a special thanks to our providers and staff for all of their dedication and hard work.

Listed below, are descriptions about each of our recognitions:

Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH)
The NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home program reflects the input of the American College of Physicians (ACP), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and others. The NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home standards emphasize the use of systematic, patient-centered, coordinated care that supports access, communication and patient involvement.

Patient-Centered Specialty Practice (PCSP)
NCQA’s Distinction in Patient Experience Reporting recognizes that consumer experience is a critical component of quality of care.

Diabetes Recognition Program (DRP)
NCQA’s Diabetes Recognition Program recognizes clinicians who have met standards demonstrating delivery of high-quality care to patients with diabetes.

Heart/Stroke Recognition Program (HSRP)
NCQA’s Heart/Stroke Recognition means that clinicians have met standards showing they are providing high quality, evidence–based care for their cardiovascular disease (CVD) and stroke patients.
