Flu Shots Are Now Available

The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. Flu can be spread up to 6 feet away by droplets made when people with flu cough, sneeze, or talk. While influenza viruses are detected year-round, the peak of flu season is between October through March.

Get the Flu Vaccine

  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccine as the first and most important step to protecting against the flu.
  • Everyone 6 months of age and older should get a flu vaccine by the end of October, if possible.
  • Getting vaccinated not only protects yourself, it also protects the people around you.
  • The flu vaccine protects those who are more susceptible to getting the flu—like older adults, young children, and those with serious health conditions.
