Services

Women’s health services involve the medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of conditions and functions of the female body. Wake Women’s Health gynecologists provide quality healthcare through preventive annual gynecology exams.

Our doctors provide education and care for female specific health issues starting at puberty and continuing throughout life. Our gynecologists have been practicing women’s health services for many years, and their experience with multiple women’s health conditions qualifies them to provide the quality care you need. See the biographies of Dr. Prashanti Aryal, Dr. Marianna Law, and Dr. Rosemarie Newman.

The Annual Gynecology Exam

The annual gynecology exam may be the most common service provided by a gynecologist. When people think of going to the gynecologist, they generally associate it with this once a year trip. Although there are many other integral and beneficial services gynecologists provide, this cornerstone of the medical specialty has a great impact on women’s health.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends that annual gynecology exams start between the ages of 13-15 and continue throughout a woman’s life. However, recommended frequency can increase if a woman is determined to be at higher risk of certain reproductive system diseases. The goal of annual gynecology exams are to detect women’s health conditions in early stages when they are easier to treat.
